In art and in maths we have been learning about SYMMETRY. One animal we found that was exactly the same on both sides was the butterfly. We made these symmetrical butterflies. The patterns on each side are identical. Here are the ones that Iftikar, Rizwana and Umaima made.

We have been making some WANTED posters of the evil stepmother. We have described what she looks like, and why the police want to arrest her. This work by Wahida, Jone Yen and Yossuff was excellent.

Well done to our STAR SPELLERS today. They were Jwhara, Mai, Yossuff, Rayan, Brigida, Amin and Jone Yen.
Tahmid and Wahida were given golden awards today for excellent writing about the evil queen from Snow White

Well done to the children who got their spellings all right today. They were Alaa, Muhammad, Ayah, Yossuff, Rowaida, Jone Yen, Nazifa, Wahida, Brigida and Iftikar. Next week's words are HOMOPHONES so you need to know the spelling and meaning of each word so that you use the correct one in the test!!

In literacy we have been looking at speech marks in the story "Really, really". These photos show some excellent freeze frame drama work done in class.

Well done to Alaa and Jwhara for getting golden awards today. These two girls ALWAYS try their best.

Next Friday we are starting to sew our puppets for our D&T project, so any adult helpers would be gratefully accepted. Please sign up on the classroom door timetable. Thanks!!

Welcomeback to school!! We wish everyone a very Happy New Year and hope they had a lovely holiday.
In the first Golden Award assembly, certificates went to Iftikar and to Jone Yen both for trying really hard with their holiday homework. Well done boys!!
In RE next week we are thinking about books that are SPECIAL to us, so if you have any books that are important to you at home, please bring them in to show us.

Some fabulous work of the week was in our art lesson today where we made repeating patterns of colours and shapes that we kept turning a half turn. Iftikar and Alaa's work was amazing!
