We have been making switches this week in science as part of our work on electricity. We used foil and split pins in our circuits and found that the electricity could travel through anything made of metal, even a PAPERCLIP!!!

Today's STAR spellers were Ayah, Anika, Ava, Suheila, Jone Yen, Rayan, Zana, Brigida, Mai and Alaa. Well done to those children for making such a great effort to learn new words.

The Golden Awards went to Suheila for trying so hard with maths all week, and to Amin for working well in maths and literacy lessons. Keep up the good work you two!

We have been making chinese lanterns today. We learnt about the moon festival that many chinese people celebrate at a special time of the year when there is a full moon. Jone Yen showed us some chinese writing that he knew how to do, and we decorated our lanterns with letters and shapes.

Its a class record!!!! 22 children managed to spell all their words correctly in today's spelling test. A very BIG well done to ..... Iftikar, Hamudi, Amin, Muhammad, Bradley, Ayah, Yossuff, Tahmid, Rowaida, Tafari, Alaa, Nahida, Jwhara, Ava, Hamdi, Jone Yen, Nazifa, Rizwana, Rayan, Zana, Mai and Brigida.

The GOLDEN AWARD's went to Nahida for trying hard and to Hamdi for making areal effort this week to listen in class and answer questions.

A very special well done to Mai who wrote an amazing story this week that looked like a junior child had written it!

We have been making Diva lanterns in RE today. We learnt about the story of Rama and Sita and about how hindu people celebrate diwali with lots of candles around their homes.
We made our divas from salt dough and decorated them with sequins.

But OH DEAR!!!! Some of our dough was too sticky!!!!

Congratulations to our STAR SPELLERS this week. We had an amazing 16 children who got all their spellings right this week!! So..... very well done to Hamudi, Muhammad, Yossuff, Anika, Umaima, Rowaida, Maryam, Ava, Iftikar, Mai, Brigida, Alaa, Jone Yen, Suheila, Jwhara and Nahida. I wonder if more than 16 children will get them right next week....?

The GOLDEN AWARDs this week go to Nazifa who has been listening really hard and has put up her hand to answer questions in every lesson, and to Hamudi who has made a real effort with his writing this week. Great work!
